His fascination for wood led him to become a trained shipbuilder.

His passion for timber was met by an interest for architecture, history and art as well as the creativity of his father’s graphic design company. In 1985, Markus founded the joinery named Schreinerei Eigenmann and focussed on renovations of listed buildings, interior space expansion and custom-made furniture.

The joinery’s team delivers work of the highest quality. The amount of wood and timber processed is second to none around the Lake Zurich area. Our team offers great expert knowledge, which is also passed on to several carpentry apprentices.

After many years at the helm, Markus Eigenmann is gradually handing over the reins of the joinery to new leadership. In 2024, Kevin Frenzel – formerly long-time head of window restoration – takes over as Managing Director. In April 2025, he becomes the owner of Schreinerei Eigenmann AG. Markus Eigenmann will remain with the company in an advisory role – and with him, an important part of its history.
